About Us

La Via Campesina is the regional network

ARNA – La Via Campesina is the regional network of La Via Campesina in the Arab and North Africa region, bringing together farmers’ organizations, rural communities, agricultural workers, women, youth, and indigenous peoples committed to defending the rights of peasants and promoting food sovereignty. We work to strengthen sustainable agriculture, social justice, environmental protection, and the dignity of rural communities through solidarity, advocacy, and collective action. Our mission is to empower local communities, protect natural resources, and build resilient food systems based on equality, cooperation, and respect for human rights.

Through regional cooperation and grassroots organizing, ARNA – La Via Campesina seeks to amplify the voices of small-scale food producers and rural communities across the Arab and North Africa region. We advocate for policies that prioritize the rights and livelihoods of peasants, equitable access to land and water, and sustainable management of natural resources. By connecting local struggles with broader regional and global movements.
